Mickey-Miles Felton (1976-2013 - Defense, Head Coach) The initial inductee into the UofA Lacrosse Hall of Fame, Mickey-Miles is the longest tenured coach in UofA lacrosse history; serving two terms spanning over 40 years. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he moved to Tucson in 1976, and began his life-long involvement with the sport in southern Arizona. Quickly he became head coach of the team, and the "Laxcat" era had begun. In 1980, Mickey-Miles helped to found the Western Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL), was the league's Coach of the Year multiple times, and coached in many all-star games. His 1990 Arizona Team won the WCLL Championship. In his career as the head coach at Arizona, Mickey-Miles had more than 300 game wins, placing him in the exclusive U.S. Lacrosse Century Club 300; and he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Arizona Chapter of U.S. Lacrosse. In addition to his work and support for the University of Arizona, Mickey-Miles has coached local Tucson club and high school teams, the US and Israel National Teams, run holiday lacrosse camps, and contributed as a broadcaster. He has also been an active leader for the sport of lacrosse, working to help grow the MCLA (Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association) to more than 200 teams in ten conferences throughout the United States and Canada.
Mickey-Miles has been a resident of Tucson for over 40 years where he is involved in local charities, and he still maintains a close relationship with many of his ex-players. Mickey-Miles is the father to Kimberlee and has two grandchildren.
